Memorial Day
Memorial Day was created by the US government in 1968, but did not become official until 1971. The holiday was created for the purpose of remembering the fallen troops in previous major American-involved wars. Federal employees receive a three day weekend to commemorate the valor of the men and women whom given have their lives for our country. The importance of this holiday does not only resonate through each heartbeat of a true blooded American, but sings of its presence with each passing.
Personally, Memorial Day is a time of the year that I can take to remember my grandfather and what he’s done for our country. Jack Weinrich served in World War II as a US infantry soldier; he made it out alive and well. When I was in fourth grade I received news that my grandfather had cancer and would most likely not recover. At this very moment I wanted to spend every moment I could with him; I didn’t truly know what was going to happen to him, as a kid, I didn’t know any better. Unfortunately, not long after, my grandfather passed away while I was next to him saying my final good-byes.
My cousin Johnothan Weinrich decided to join the Marine Corps in honor of my grandfather. My entire family was against his decision because at this time the war was at its most dangerous point, and no mercy. Thankfully, he did not get injured of any sorts, but he did come back with a serious case of PTSD (I’d rather not get into that). Overall, we are very thankful for the service that Johnny and my grandfather Jack have provided for this country and we are thankful that we are able to honor them as both citizens of the nation and soldiers that fought for its safety and their homes.

Favourite TV Show
My favourite TV show is Friends. It aired on September 22, 1994 and has become iconic to the lives of Americans. It features a group of what seems like everyday friends since high school that are now going through life as adults. The show features vast emotional roller-coasters in each episode that cause the viewers to stay entranced throughout the entirety of it, always wanting more.
The show has become a personal favourite of mine because of it's style from the 20th century. The uniqueness of that aspect is something that is lacking in almost every TV show that comes to air today. In my opinion, TV is progressively getting worse with each passing day due to lack of material and relevance to the real world.
If you have not seen Friends I highly recommend it. The episodes talk of real life events that could happen to anyone and with each one the show becomes more and more relatable. The characters portray a character set that could certain to any individual at home that may be watching the show, giving a highly relatable attribute to the person that does in fact relate to that character. As of now I am on season 2 and have no plans on stopping, the rewatch value is of the highest quality and is something I plan to do as well.

Field Trip
Since I’ve been given the freedom to write about a potential field trip for school, I’ve decided to pick Las Vegas as my place of interest. The city of drunks, cards, and talent offers a bright sight for the blind and music for the deaf. Las Vegas is home to the once very talented Rat Pack and would offer one of many ways for students aboard the trip to connect to the past.
Since nobody on the trip is “of age,” I’ll be speaking theoretically in the coming paragraphs. Casinos and night clubs could provide a sufficient source of entertainment. The clubs offer a place to meet new people and have a good time dancing. Casinos offer many sources of gambling and again meeting new people.
If I were to be in Vegas I’d have spent my time in mainly casinos. I find gambling somewhat fun because it takes a calculated response to play black jack. I find myself to be a moderate player, though I don’t gamble. It would indeed be much more fun to play for money than just for the fun of it. I really hope either my high school or the college I go to will consider this trip.

New Class: VR
If I could create a new class to add to the curriculum in my school it would be History Through VR. A class where it is a large room that is dedicated to a strictly VR taught class that relates to many different subjects relevant to the plain of reality and beyond. Science will no longer be a bore when talking about physics or chemistry. The possibilities of shrinking down to a molecular level and then adjusting other molecules are within reach.
Students can experience the peak of Mt. Everest and the shallows of Mariana’s Trench. The sky shall never be called the limit with endless possible and programs. To be able to apply this to an art class and have students create their own landscape that they can later explore as a character they create to then role play in drama classes. With VR technology we now have the possibility to create endless bridges over curriculum gaps between subjects in any way we can imagine.
This class would be an optional core class; students will be able to replace a core class with this one to learn more in depth on either that subject or others. The students will be able to show an accurate display of growth on where they are in the course due to no written tests that mean nothing, and replaced by a display of their understanding through visual depiction. Art and drama clubs would be able to produce absolutely beautiful performances that would entrance audiences with its unique quality and detail. History Through VR will be an ultimate game changer for how schools teach their students for years.

My Favorite Movie
Valkyrie starring Tom Cruise, portrays the events that unfolded behind the scenes in World War II. A group of like-minded individuals decided that the führer Hitler needed to be eliminated. In order for this to be accomplished, a man whom goes by the name of Claus von Stauffenburg is set to lead this group. In order for him to push out Hitler of his rule, he needed to kill him. Ultimately it doesn’t go so well, and he is found out by Hitler’s high ranking officers and Claus along with all the men involved were sentenced to an unfortunate ending.
Tom Cruise, being a well known actor, has done many well known movies. Ranging from Risky Business and the Mission Impossible series. Over the course of his career he has won a whopping total of 30 various awards and received 80 nominations.
In choosing this movie, I feel that it has a historical aspect to it that many others like it tend to overlook. It was no just the Allies that despised Hitler, but his own men as well. If one is looking for historical accuracy in coexistence with a spy-like movie then this might be the one for you. The emotion shown throughout the movie by all characters seems fairly authentic and a very well thought out plot was laid out from the very beginning. The execution of the entire movie was precise and depicted a very intriguing tale.

Art of Music
Frank Sinatra: an American-born male with exceeding talent in the musical arts. He came from an Italian background and was raised right here in Hoboken. He grew up as a proper young man would in his time, leaving only a legacy of laughter, love, and song in his wake wherever he’d go. Getting his start in a Vegas casino/nightclub singing lonesome, captivating all in his vicinity.
He’d sing the blues, jazz, anything he can with a bit of pizzazz. Songs such as “Fly Me to the Moon” and “That’s Life” really expresses his love for love and acceptance of life. A selection of highly relatable songs to the common folk and love birds.

He’d become my personal favorite due to the emotion and soul he’d put into his performances and lyrics. My family also being a big fan, the culture from his music is basically what I grew up with. Always the same songs played over and over, but never old and always new.

What I Like About Spring
Spring has come at last and there’s tons of fun to be had. Like watching Netflix and pool parties and walks down the beach. An opportunity has presented itself and we ought to take it. Change your mood and get in the grove because it doesn’t let forever.
Imagine the sun, the heat, the shine on the water. Now imagine the cool waves of the ocean wash ashore over your feet buried in the hot sand. Relaxing and refreshing isn’t it? The bonfires and gatherings around the fire, sharing stories, making memories. Sitting up at night watching the stars with the ones you love around you while you talk about your days.
Unlike many others I believe that some of the best weather is rain. Springs got a lot of rain and I’d prefer to take a walk in that than the beach any day.
